Composer Biography

Michael Grady earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in music from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). He has been active in the Bradford, Pennsylvania School District for the last eight years as an elementary band director and general music teacher.

While at IUP, Mr. Grady studied composition with Daniel Perlongo and James Staples and has several published compositions, including the award-winning Concerto for Euphonium and Piano. Michael's compositions and arrangements frequently appear on the program at George G. Blaisdell Elementary School in Bradford where he is currently director of bands.

Mr. Grady is active in community theater and is a present and founding board member of the Bradford Little Theater. Michael also plays in the Musician's Concert Band at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania and is presently earning Orff certification at Buffalo State University.
